A member of the Paris Bar, Jean-Baptiste Belin is the partner in charge of the Intellectual Property, Technologies & Media Department at Squadra Avocats.

Jean-Baptiste assists and advises companies and market leaders in the digital economy with the design, implementation, and enhancement of innovative technology projects. He offers his strategic vision and extensive knowledge of digital law to clients of all sizes and of various sectors of activity. His areas of expertise include contractual law, intellectual property, Internet law, software and database law, and personal data law.

He also offers a wealth of experience in litigation (failed IT projects, counterfeiting, damage to reputation and goodwill, database extraction, evidence collection, unfair competition etc.) before both civil and commercial courts.

Before becoming a lawyer, Jean-Baptiste Belin worked in the legal department of the Atos group in 2011, where he was in charge of complex technology contracts with CAC40/SBF120 companies (software integration, outsourcing, maintenance, licensing, strategic partnerships, hosting and mainframe). He then practised as a lawyer within a French IP-IT boutique law firm before joining a tier-one business law firm in Paris.

Aided by his experience in the business world, he offers a dynamic client relationship, based on trust and pragmatism.

Other Activities

Jean-Baptiste Belin has lectured at the University of Panthéon-Assas Paris II for several years. He is also frequently a member of the Bar admission panel at the Paris Law School (Ecole de formation professionnelle des barreaux de la Cour d’appel de Paris).
